Set and Recall the Memory Seat

Higher-trim Magnum wagons carry the memory-seat feature, storing the driver’s seat and mirror settings along with the radio presets for two drivers. If the wagon does double duty between two people — the school run one day, hauling duty the next — each driver can save a profile and even tie it to a key fob, so the seat is ready before the first bag hits the cargo floor. It takes under a minute to set and needs no tools.

How you know it needs re-setting

The reason you’re usually here is that pressing a memory button no longer returns the seat to where it belongs — it either stays put or drives to the other driver’s spot. On these wagons that most often follows a battery disconnect or a flat battery, either of which can erase the stored positions, so you simply save them again. If a recall does nothing while you’re moving, that’s the Park interlock, not a fault.

1. Move the seat and exterior mirrors into your ideal position.
2. Press the SET button, then press memory 1 (or 2) within five seconds to save it.
3. Recall the position whenever you want by pressing memory 1 or 2 with the transmission in Park.

Tying a profile to a key fob

You can let a fob restore your profile automatically: press SET, press 1 or 2 within five seconds, then with the key removed press LOCK on the fob you want to associate. That fob’s unlock now recalls the profile if “recall memory with RKE unlock” is enabled in Personal Settings. The related “Easy Exit” setting slides the seat back as you take the key out and returns it on restart, which makes loading up and climbing out of the wagon easier.

If nothing happens on recall

• Confirm the wagon is in Park — the seat won’t travel under way, by design.
• If both profiles disappeared, re-store them; a battery disconnect clears the memory on these cars.
• Press the memory number within five seconds of SET, or the position isn’t captured.
• If one axis of travel never reaches the same point, that points to a memory-motor or module fault rather than a lost setting.

Store and recall on level ground with the door shut so the mirrors index properly, and let the seat finish moving before touching the manual switch. Re-saving the profiles is the first job to tackle after you reconnect the battery.
