The clock on the North American Accord (2008–2012) is set from the audio panel and blanks whenever the 12V battery is disconnected or dies. Resetting it takes a few seconds with the CLOCK, H and M buttons.
How to set the clock on a Honda Accord (2008–2012)
- Turn the ignition to ON (II) (or switch the audio on).
- Press and hold the CLOCK button until it beeps — the time starts to blink.
- Press the H (hour) button to set the hour.
- Press the M (minute) button to set the minutes.
- Press CLOCK again to store the time.
To snap to the nearest hour, hold CLOCK and press the reset (R) button: before the half-hour it rounds back, after the half-hour it rounds forward.
Cars with navigation set the time automatically from GPS — adjust the time zone and daylight saving in the navigation menu instead of using the CLOCK button.
Frequently asked questions
Why does my Accord clock keep resetting?
If it resets whenever the car sits, the 12V battery or its terminals are weak — the clock loses power along with the radio presets. A one-time reset usually just means the battery was recently disconnected.
My car has navigation — where’s the clock setting?
Navigation cars take the time from GPS, so there’s no CLOCK-button routine. Open the navigation setup menu to change the time zone or daylight-saving offset.
Does the engine need to be running?
No — the accessory/ON position powers the audio panel, which is all you need to set the clock.
