Before You Start
Do the reset with the ignition on but the engine not running. The trip-recorder button is the small reset button on the instrument cluster that you normally use to switch between the odometer and trip readings.
How to Reset the i20 Service Indicator
- Turn the ignition on — do not start the engine.
- Press the trip-recorder button repeatedly until the ‘SERVICE’ menu appears in the display.
- Press and hold the reset button for about 3 seconds — the service light starts to flash.
- Within 5 seconds, press and hold the reset button again.
- After about 1 second the new service interval appears on the display.
- Turn the ignition off. The service indicator is reset.
If the Reminder Doesn’t Clear
- You missed the timing window: the second press must come within 5 seconds of the light flashing — switch off, then run through the sequence again.
- You started the engine by mistake: the menu only responds with the ignition on and the engine off. Switch off and retry.
