Home/Hyundai/Tucson/Mk4 (NX4) 2020-Present/Reset the Service Indicator

Reset the Service Indicator

These instructions apply to the Hyundai Tucson Mk4 (NX4) 2020-Present. For other models, please choose your vehicle here.

Last updated: June 5, 2026

When the spanner or a “Service Required” message appears on your Hyundai Tucson Mk4 (NX4, 2020–present) — petrol, mild-hybrid, full-hybrid or plug-in — the service interval has elapsed. You can clear it yourself from the Tucson’s digital cluster or its central screen in a few seconds. Here are both methods; do the service first.

Reset Only After the Service

The interval is just a distance/time counter — clearing it early hides the reminder while the oil and filters keep ageing. Reset it only once the work is done.

Method 1 — Cluster Menu

  1. Turn the ignition on (no need to start; on hybrids power up without your foot on the brake).
  2. Press the ‘MENU’ button on the steering wheel and scroll to ‘User Setting’; press OK.
  3. Select ‘Convenience’, then ‘Service Interval’.
  4. Select ‘Reset’ — the interval returns to full and the spanner clears.

Method 2 — Central Touchscreen

  1. With the ignition on, open ‘Setup’ on the central display.
  2. Select ‘Vehicle’, then the service/maintenance reset.
  3. When the confirmation appears, select ‘Yes’.

If the Reminder Returns

  • It comes back at start-up — the reset wasn’t confirmed; repeat to the ‘Reset’/‘Yes’ step.
  • A different warning is on — that’s a fault, not the service timer, and won’t clear this way.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the engine need to run to reset the Tucson service light?

No — ignition/power on is enough. On hybrids you can do it without the system “ready”.

Where is the Service Interval option?

In the cluster’s User Setting → Convenience menu, or via Setup → Vehicle on the central screen.

Will resetting change anything else?

No — it only restarts the service-interval countdown.

The light stays on after resetting — why?

If it’s the spanner, the reset wasn’t confirmed. A different warning is a fault needing diagnosis.

If a warning light appeared with the service message, look it up on autodtcs.com. After battery work, see our Tucson Mk4 battery guide.
