Set the Wipers to Service Position

To change the blades or clear snow on your Renault Kadjar (XFE, 2015–2022) you need the wipers in their upright service position. Park them normally and they sit tucked under the bonnet lip out of reach — here’s how to stand them up safely.

Why There’s a Service Position

The arms park low against the scuttle. Levering them up from there strains the linkage and can crack the trim, so Renault built in a service mode.

Raising the Wipers

1. Make sure the bonnet is closed and the wipers are parked.
2. Switch the ignition on, then off.
3. Within a few seconds, push the wiper stalk down (the single-wipe position) briefly.
4. The arms sweep up and hold clear of the screen.
5. Fold them away from the glass to change blades or clear ice.

Returning Them

Lay the arms back onto the screen, then switch the ignition on and operate the wipers once — they drop back to the parked position.

Won’t Lift?

• Too slow — the stalk only triggers it for a few seconds after ignition-off; try again.
• Bonnet not latched — close it fully and retry.
