These instructions apply to the Toyota Tacoma Mk3 (N300) 2016-2023.
For other models, please choose your vehicle here.
The 2016–2023 Toyota Tacoma (N300) has a direct TPMS with a sensor in each wheel. After a rotation or a pressure change you re-initialize it with the reset switch — no scan tool. This is the US-market procedure.
- Set all four tires to the correct cold pressure (table below), engine switch OFF.
- Turn the ignition to ON (engine off).
- Press and hold the tire-pressure reset switch (lower dash) until the TPMS light blinks slowly three times; the display shows “- -” while it learns.
- Drive at 25 mph (40 km/h) or more for ~10 minutes to finish; each wheel’s pressure then displays.
Toyota Tacoma tire pressures (cold)

| Tire size | Front & rear |
|---|---|
| P245/75R16 | 32 psi |
| 265/70R16 | 30 psi |
| P265/65R17, P265/60R18 | 29 psi |
FAQ
Do I need a relearn tool?
No — the reset switch re-initializes the system. Only brand-new sensors need their IDs registered (a Toyota dealer job).
The light won’t go out.
Re-check all four cold pressures, repeat the reset, and drive above 25 mph for ten minutes. A flat sensor battery needs replacing.
Where is the reset switch?
Low on the dash near the steering column; hold it with the ignition ON until the light blinks three times.
If your Tacoma stores a fault code with the warning light, look it up on autodtcs.com.
