When the tyre-pressure warning light on your Toyota Verso (AR20, 2009–2018) stays on after you have checked or changed the tyres, the system needs to be reset. The Verso uses a simple SET button to relearn the current pressures as the new “correct” baseline — no tool required.
Set the pressures first
The reset teaches the system whatever pressures the tyres are at, so set them correctly before you press the button. Inflate all four cold to the values on the placard in the driver’s door pillar — on many Versos that is around 240 kPa (2.4 bar / 35 psi) front, but always use the exact figures on your car’s label.
Reset with the SET button
- Park the vehicle and set all tyres to the correct cold pressures.
- Turn the ignition on (engine does not need to be running).
- Press and hold the tyre-pressure ‘SET’ button — it is usually low on the dashboard near the steering column, or in the glovebox.
- Hold until the TPMS warning light flashes (typically about three blinks) and then stays off.
- Turn the ignition off. The current pressures are now stored as the baseline.
The system finishes learning over a short drive. If the light returns, re-check the pressures and repeat — a slow puncture will keep triggering it.
When a reset is needed
- After adjusting the tyre pressures.
- After changing or rotating wheels/tyres, or a seasonal swap.
- After a battery disconnect in some cases.
Frequently asked questions
Where is the TPMS reset button on a Toyota Verso?
Low on the dash near the steering column on most cars, or inside the glovebox. Hold it with the ignition on until the warning light flashes.
Why did the light come on when it got cold?
Cold weather lowers tyre pressure — roughly 0.1 bar per 10 °C. Top the tyres back up to the placard values and reset. Our temperature-and-pressure guide explains why.
Do I press SET before or after inflating?
After. The Verso learns whatever pressures are in the tyres at the moment you reset, so always inflate correctly first.
The light is flashing on its own — is that the same?
A light that flashes for about a minute at start-up and then stays on usually means a sensor fault, not a lost calibration. Have the sensors checked if a reset does not clear it.
