Set the Wiper Service Position

To change the wiper blades or lift them off the glass in winter on a Vauxhall Mokka Mk2 (2020–present) — Opel Mokka — the arms need to be in their service position, standing up clear of the bonnet edge. If you just switch off, they park low under the bonnet lip where you can’t reach them. Here’s how to raise them.

Why You Need the Service Position

The Mokka’s wipers park tucked below the bonnet trim. Forcing them up from there can bend an arm or crack the trim, so there’s a service-position mode.

How to Set the Wiper Service Position

1. Make sure the bonnet is closed.
2. Turn the ignition off.
3. Within 1 minute, operate the wipers (push the wiper stalk) — the arms sweep up to the vertical service position.
4. Lift the arms away from the glass to change the blades or clear snow.

Returning Them to Park

Fold the arms back onto the glass, then turn the ignition on and operate the wipers — they return to the normal parked position.

If the Wipers Won’t Lift

• You missed the 1-minute window — switch off and try again promptly.
• The bonnet isn’t fully latched — make sure it’s closed.
