When your Volvo S60 (225, 2018–present) remote (key tag) only works from close range, the coin cell inside is flat. It’s a quick swap with no reprogramming.
The Cell You Need
The S60 key tag takes a single CR2032 3 V coin cell. Buy one before you open it.
Opening the Key Tag
- Slide the catch and remove the emergency key blade from the tag.
- Use the blade slot to separate the two halves of the case.
- Lift out the old CR2032, noting which way up it sits.
- Fit the new cell the same way, click the halves together and refit the blade.
After the Swap
Lock and unlock once within range to confirm. A battery change keeps the existing pairing — no reprogramming needed.
