Replace the Cabin (Pollen) Filter

Reviewed by the Service Reset editor · Updated October 1, 2026 · How we verify

These instructions apply to the Vauxhall Corsa Mk5 (E/X15) 2014-2019.
For other models, please choose your vehicle here.

A clogged cabin (pollen) filter is the usual cause of weak airflow, misting windows or a musty smell in a Vauxhall Corsa E (2014–2019). On this car the filter sits behind the left-hand side trim in the passenger footwell, and swapping it is a straightforward owner job.

How to replace the cabin filter on a Vauxhall Corsa E

  1. Open the passenger door and remove the side trim cover in the footwell (it unclips).
  2. Open the filter box cover behind it.
  3. Slide the old filter out, noting the airflow arrow, and slide the new one in the same way.
  4. Refit the box cover and the trim.

Fit a new filter every year or two, sooner if you drive in heavy traffic or dusty areas. Always match the airflow-direction arrow printed on the filter, or airflow and demisting will suffer.

Frequently asked questions

Where is the cabin filter on a Vauxhall Corsa E?
Behind the left-hand side trim in the passenger footwell.

How often should it be changed?
Roughly every 12–24 months, or at each major service — more often with high mileage or city driving.

If a climate or airflow fault light is on as well, you can look up the code on autodtcs.com.
