Find the Fuse Box and Change a Fuse

Reviewed by the Service Reset editor · Updated October 1, 2026 · How we verify

These instructions apply to the Vauxhall Corsa Mk5 (E/X15) 2014-2019.

If an electrical item on your Vauxhall Corsa E (2014–2019) — a window, light, 12 V socket or the radio — stops working, a blown fuse is the first thing to check. The car has two fuse boxes: one at the lower-left end of the instrument panel (behind the glovebox on right-hand-drive cars), and one on the right-hand side of the engine bay, under a clip-off cover.

How to find and change a fuse on a Vauxhall Corsa E

  1. Find the right box: in-cabin fuses are at the lower-left end of the instrument panel (behind the glovebox on right-hand-drive cars); engine-bay fuses are on the right-hand side of the engine bay, under a clip-off cover.
  2. Read the legend on the fuse-box lid (or in the handbook) to identify the fuse for the circuit that’s failed — assignments vary by trim and engine, so always check your own car’s lid.
  3. Pull the suspect fuse with the plastic puller clipped inside the box; a blown fuse has a broken metal strip.
  4. Fit a new fuse of the exact same amp rating (colour). Never fit a higher rating — it can cause a fire.

If the new fuse blows straight away there’s a fault in that circuit — have it checked rather than keep replacing fuses. Leave airbag, ABS and engine-management fuses to a specialist.

Frequently asked questions

Where are the fuses on a Vauxhall Corsa E?
Two boxes: one at the lower-left end of the instrument panel (behind the glovebox on right-hand-drive cars), one on the right-hand side of the engine bay, under a clip-off cover.

Why does my fuse keep blowing?
A fuse that blows again immediately points to a short or an overloaded circuit — get the circuit diagnosed; don’t fit a bigger fuse.

If an electrical warning light is involved, you can look up the fault code on autodtcs.com.
