If an electrical item on your Vauxhall Corsa E (2014–2019) — a window, light, 12 V socket or the radio — stops working, a blown fuse is the first thing to check. The car has two fuse boxes: one at the lower-left end of the instrument panel (behind the glovebox on right-hand-drive cars), and one on the right-hand side of the engine bay, under a clip-off cover.
How to find and change a fuse on a Vauxhall Corsa E
- Find the right box: in-cabin fuses are at the lower-left end of the instrument panel (behind the glovebox on right-hand-drive cars); engine-bay fuses are on the right-hand side of the engine bay, under a clip-off cover.
- Read the legend on the fuse-box lid (or in the handbook) to identify the fuse for the circuit that’s failed — assignments vary by trim and engine, so always check your own car’s lid.
- Pull the suspect fuse with the plastic puller clipped inside the box; a blown fuse has a broken metal strip.
- Fit a new fuse of the exact same amp rating (colour). Never fit a higher rating — it can cause a fire.
If the new fuse blows straight away there’s a fault in that circuit — have it checked rather than keep replacing fuses. Leave airbag, ABS and engine-management fuses to a specialist.
Frequently asked questions
Where are the fuses on a Vauxhall Corsa E?
Two boxes: one at the lower-left end of the instrument panel (behind the glovebox on right-hand-drive cars), one on the right-hand side of the engine bay, under a clip-off cover.
Why does my fuse keep blowing?
A fuse that blows again immediately points to a short or an overloaded circuit — get the circuit diagnosed; don’t fit a bigger fuse.
