Replacing the wiper blades on the Honda CR-V (RE, 2007-2012) is a quick no-tool job. Lift the arms off the glass first so you do not chip the windshield.

Replace the front blades

  1. With the wipers parked and the ignition off, lift each wiper arm off the windshield — driver’s side first, then the passenger side.
  2. Press and hold the lock tab where the blade meets the arm, and slide the blade assembly toward the tab until it releases.
  3. Grasp the tabbed end of the blade and pull it from the holder.
  4. Slide the new blade into the holder until the tabs click home.
  5. Refit the assembly onto the arm until it locks, then gently lower the arm back onto the glass.

Rear wiper

Lift the rear arm, unclip the old blade from the hook or pin fitting, clip the new blade on and lower the arm.

Do not open the hood while the front arms are raised, or you may bend them against the hood edge.

Frequently asked questions

What size blades does the CR-V take? Fitments vary slightly by year — check the length of the old blades or a fitment guide before buying.

The wipers smear after fitting. Clean the glass and wipe the new rubber with washer fluid; replace blades that are cracked or hardened.
