Replace the Key Fob Battery

Reviewed by the Service Reset editor · Updated October 6, 2026 · How we verify

These instructions apply to the Suzuki Splash Mk1 (EX) 2008-2014.
For other models, please choose your vehicle here.

If your Suzuki Splash (2008-2014) remote needs several presses to lock or unlock, the coin cell is weak. The swap takes a couple of minutes and no reprogramming.

Replace the battery

  1. Slide out the emergency key blade if your fob has one.
  2. Split the fob along its seam with a small coin or flat tool (some have a small screw first).
  3. Lift out the old coin cell – typically a CR2032 (confirm the number printed on the old cell before buying).
  4. Fit the new cell the same way up (+ side as before).
  5. Clip the halves together and test locking.

Replacing the battery does not erase the remote. Only a lost or new transmitter needs pairing by a dealer.

Frequently asked questions

Which battery does it take? Most Splash remotes use a 3V CR2032; always check the marking on the cell you remove.
