These instructions apply to the Suzuki Splash Mk1 (EX) 2008-2014.
For other models, please choose your vehicle here.
Splash models fitted with stability control (ESP) have an OFF switch on the dashboard. The system is on by default every time you start the car.
Turn it off and on
- Find the traction/ESP OFF button on the lower dashboard, near the steering column.
- Press it briefly – the ESP-off indicator lights in the cluster to confirm it is disabled.
- Press again, or simply restart the engine, to switch it back on – it always defaults to ON at start-up.
Only switch it off to rock the car free of snow, mud or sand. For normal driving leave it on.
Frequently asked questions
The ESP light is flashing while I drive. That means the system is actively working (low grip). A steady ESP light that you did not switch off indicates a fault – have it scanned.
Does my Splash have ESP? Not all did. If there is no OFF switch and no ESP symbol in the cluster, your car was built without it.
