The Hyundai i10 (2008-2013) uses an H4 headlight bulb (60/55W combined high/low beam). On this model you reach it by freeing the headlight unit, so allow a little more time than a clip-off dust cap.
Replace the bulb
- Open the bonnet and switch everything off.
- Undo the headlight assembly mounting bolts and ease the unit forward enough to reach its back.
- Unplug the power connector, then twist the round bulb cover counterclockwise and remove it.
- Unclip the wire retaining spring (press the end and lift it clear) and withdraw the old H4 bulb.
- Fit the new bulb − without touching the glass − and clip the retaining spring back into its groove.
- Refit the cover (turn clockwise), reconnect the plug, bolt the headlight back on and test the light.
If you touch the glass, wipe it with alcohol first − skin oil creates a hot spot that shortens bulb life. Replace both sides in pairs so the beams match.
