These instructions apply to the Kia Rio (UB, QBR) 2011 - 2018. For other models, please choose your vehicle here.
After disconnecting the battery or replacing a window motor, the power windows in a Kia Rio (2011–2018) may lose their one-touch function. Re-initializing the system restores automatic up/down operation and ensures the anti-pinch feature works correctly.
When to Initialize
- After disconnecting or reconnecting the battery.
- After replacing a window regulator or motor.
- If the window does not close automatically or stops halfway.
Initialization Procedure
- Switch the ignition ON.
- Press and hold the window switch to fully close the window.
- Continue holding the switch for about 1 second after the glass reaches the top.
- Release the switch.
- Repeat the same procedure for the passenger’s window if necessary.

Troubleshooting
- If the one-touch feature does not return, repeat the cycle again with steady pressure on the switch.
- Make sure the window tracks are free of dirt or debris that could interrupt calibration.
- Check battery voltage — low power can cause initialization failure.
