The eighth-generation Accord has three fuse boxes: one under the hood in the engine compartment, and two inside — one on each side under the dashboard. A blown fuse is a quick, tool-free fix once you find the right box and the right slot.

How to find and change a fuse on a Honda Accord (2008–2015)
- Decide which box to check: engine-bay items (lights, cooling fan, main systems) are in the under-hood fuse box; interior items (windows, sockets, audio, locks) are in the driver’s or passenger’s under-dash box.
- Open the box and read the legend on the lid (or the inside panel) to find the circuit you want — the layout is printed there for your exact car.
- Pull the suspect fuse straight out using the plastic puller clipped inside the under-hood box — never metal pliers.
- Hold it to the light: a blown fuse has a broken metal strip. Replace it with one of the same amperage (same color) — never a higher rating.
- If the new fuse blows again, stop and have the circuit diagnosed — a repeat blow means a fault, not a weak fuse.
Always match the amperage printed on the fuse. Fitting a higher-rated fuse lets too much current flow and can overheat the wiring or cause a fire. Keep a few spares of the common ratings in the glovebox.
Because fuse assignments change with engine, transmission and trim, the legend on your own car’s lid is the authority — not a chart from another Accord. Safety-critical circuits such as the airbags should be left to a workshop.
Frequently asked questions
Where are the fuse boxes on an Accord?
There are three: the under-hood box in the engine bay, and one under the dash on each side of the cabin. Engine and lighting circuits are usually in the under-hood box; cabin electrics are in the under-dash boxes.
How do I know which fuse to change?
Read the legend printed on the fuse-box lid or the inside cover — it maps each slot and amperage for your specific car. Match the dead circuit to its slot there rather than guessing.
The replacement fuse blew straight away — why?
A fuse that blows again immediately points to a short or an overloaded circuit, not a faulty fuse. Fitting an ever-higher rating is dangerous; get the circuit checked instead.
