If the Accord’s battery is disconnected or goes flat, the audio unit locks itself and shows ENTER CODE next time you switch it on. You restore it by keying in the car’s 5-digit anti-theft code with the radio preset buttons — no tool or dealer visit needed if you have the code.

How to enter the radio code on a Honda Accord (2008–2015)
- Turn the ignition to ON (II) and switch the audio on — the display reads ENTER CODE.
- Find the 5-digit code on the audio code card (usually in the service booklet or owner’s wallet).
- Key the five digits in using the radio’s preset buttons, following the card.
- The radio accepts the code and switches on normally.
- Reset your station presets and the clock, which were also cleared.
You get a limited number of tries. After ten wrong attempts the system locks and you must leave it switched on for one hour before trying again, so enter the code carefully.
Lost the card? The code can be recovered from a Honda dealer using the audio unit’s serial number. On navigation-equipped cars the system asks for a PIN instead — that is retrieved the same way.
Frequently asked questions
Why is my Accord radio asking for a code?
The anti-theft lockout triggers whenever the audio unit loses power — a flat battery, a battery disconnect for other work, or a blown audio fuse. It is normal, not a fault.
Where do I find the code?
On the anti-theft code card supplied with the car, usually tucked in the service book or owner’s wallet. If it is missing, a dealer can look it up from the audio unit’s serial number.
What if I enter the wrong code?
You have ten attempts. After that the unit locks for an hour with the ignition on before it will accept input again, so double-check the digits before entering them.
