The clock on the eighth-generation Accord is set from the audio panel, and it blanks whenever the 12V battery is disconnected or goes flat. Resetting it takes a few seconds using the CLOCK, H and M buttons.
The same procedure applies to the North American Accord (2008–2012) — see the US guide.
How to set the clock on a Honda Accord (2008–2015)
- Switch the ignition to ON (II) (or turn the audio on).
- Press and hold the CLOCK button until you hear a beep — the displayed time starts to blink.
- Press the H (hour) button until the hour is correct.
- Press the M (minute) button until the minutes are correct.
- Press the CLOCK button again to store the time.
To snap the time to the nearest hour, hold CLOCK and press the reset (preset 6) button: before the half-hour it rounds back, after the half-hour it rounds forward.
Cars with the satellite-navigation system set the time automatically from GPS — you adjust the time zone and daylight saving in the navigation menu rather than with the CLOCK button.
Frequently asked questions
Why does my Accord clock keep resetting?
If it resets every time the car sits, the 12V battery or its connections are likely weak — the clock loses power along with the radio presets. A clock that only reset once usually means the battery was recently disconnected.
My car has navigation — where is the clock setting?
Navigation cars take the time from GPS automatically, so there is no CLOCK button routine. Open the navigation setup menu to change the time zone or daylight-saving offset.
Do I need the ignition fully on?
The accessory position is enough to power the audio panel and set the clock; you do not need to start the engine.
