Mazda 6e Specifications (2025-present)

Reviewed by the Service Reset editor · Updated October 15, 2026 · How we verify

These instructions apply to the Mazda 6e Mk1 2025-Present.
For other models, please choose your vehicle here.

The Mazda 6e is Mazda’s first global battery-electric car: a rear-wheel-drive liftback launched in Europe in 2025. It is built in China on Changan’s EV platform (closely related to the Changan Deepal / EZ-6) and sold under the Mazda badge, and it is a completely different car from the petrol and diesel Mazda 6 (GJ) saloon.

Two versions are offered. The Standard Range uses a 68.8 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery with a 190 kW (258 hp) rear motor for up to 479 km WLTP. The Long Range uses an 80 kWh nickel-manganese-cobalt (NMC) battery and a 180 kW (245 hp) motor for up to 552 km WLTP. Both drive the rear wheels, charge through a CCS Combo 2 port, and come with a heat pump and vehicle-to-load (V2L) power output.

The full verified specifications for both variants are below. Figures are taken from the official Mazda owner’s manual and Mazda’s published European specifications; blank cells are values Mazda does not state.

Each column is one specific vehicle — a single engine or motor and, where shown, body style. Dimensions and several weights are specific to that body and drivetrain; other body or powertrain versions differ, so match the column to your own vehicle.

Frequently asked questions

What battery does the Mazda 6e have – LFP or NMC?

Both. The Standard Range uses a 68.8 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) pack, and the Long Range uses an 80 kWh nickel-manganese-cobalt (NMC) pack. LFP batteries tolerate being charged to 100% regularly, which suits the Standard Range for daily use.

Is the Mazda 6e rear-wheel drive?

Yes. Every 6e is rear-wheel drive, with a single motor on the rear axle. There is no all-wheel-drive version at launch.

Does the Mazda 6e have a spare wheel?

No. The 6e is supplied with a tire repair (mobility) kit, a warning triangle and a tow eye – there is no spare wheel and no jack. The repair kit is for small tread punctures only; for sidewall damage or a large puncture you need roadside assistance.

How big is the boot?

The liftback boot holds about 337 liters with the rear seats up and around 1,074 liters with them folded. There is no front trunk (frunk).

Does the Mazda 6e have a heat pump?

Yes, a heat pump is standard on both versions. It helps protect driving range in cold weather by heating the cabin more efficiently than a resistive heater.

Where is the Mazda 6e built?

In China, on Changan’s electric-vehicle platform. It is closely related to the Changan Deepal (EZ-6) but is engineered and sold by Mazda for European markets.
