These instructions apply to the Mercedes E-Class Mk5 (W213) 2016-2023.

The Mercedes E-Class W213 has several fuse boxes: one in the front-passenger footwell, one at the end of the dashboard, and one in the trunk. Each carries its own fuse-assignment diagram.
Always read the legend on your own car, because fuse layouts vary by engine, trim and market.
How to replace a fuse on the E-Class
- Switch off the ignition and the circuit you are working on.
- Open the relevant fuse box: pull the cover up on the dash-end box, or open the lid in the passenger footwell or trunk box.
- Read the assignment diagram in the recess on the side of the box to identify the fuse.
- Pull the suspect fuse with the plastic puller and check whether the metal strip is broken.
- Fit a new fuse of the same amperage only, then close the box securely.
Never fit a higher-rated fuse or bridge a circuit; that risks wiring damage and fire. If a new fuse blows again straight away, there is a fault in that circuit that needs diagnosis.
Some circuits (airbags, certain control units) should only be worked on by a specialist. Use the diagram on your car’s fuse-box lid as the authority for which fuse is which.
Where are the fuses on a Mercedes E-Class?
In three areas on the W213: the front-passenger footwell, the end of the dashboard (visible with the door open), and the trunk. The diagram for each is printed on or beside that box.
If a warning light stays on or a fault code appears afterwards, you can look the code up free on autodtcs.com.
