The 12V battery on the Suzuki Splash (2008-2014) sits in the engine bay. Disconnect it in the right order to protect the electronics.
Disconnect
- Switch everything off and remove the key.
- Undo and remove the negative (−) terminal first; tuck the cable clear.
- Remove the positive (+) terminal.
- If lifting the battery out, undo the hold-down clamp and keep it upright.
Reconnect
- Fit the battery and clamp (if removed).
- Connect positive (+) first, then negative (−); tighten both.
Afterwards the clock resets and the electric windows may need re-initializing; let the engine idle a minute to settle. The petrol uses a 36 Ah battery, the diesel a larger 60 Ah unit – match the original’s capacity and terminal layout.
