On air-conditioned Suzuki Alto (2009-2014) models, the cabin (pollen) filter sits behind the glovebox. Replacing it restores airflow and cuts pollen and odors.
Replace the filter
- Open the glovebox and empty it.
- Release the glovebox from its stops (squeeze the sides or release the damper) so it drops down.
- Unclip the filter cover behind it and slide the old filter out.
- Note the airflow arrow on the new filter and fit it the same way the old one came out.
- Refit the cover and lift the glovebox back onto its stops.
Many base Alto models without air conditioning have no pollen filter – just an empty housing or a blanking panel. If there is nothing behind the cover, your car was not fitted with one.
Frequently asked questions
Does my Alto have a cabin filter? Air-conditioned cars do; basic non-AC models often do not. Replace a fitted filter about once a year or when airflow drops.
