Find & Change a Fuse

Reviewed by the Service Reset editor · Updated October 6, 2026 · How we verify

These instructions apply to the Suzuki Alto Mk7 (GF) 2009-2014.
For other models, please choose your vehicle here.

The Suzuki Alto (2009-2014) has a fuse box under the hood near the battery and another inside the cabin behind a cover at the end of the dashboard or under the steering column.

Find and change a fuse

  1. Pick the right box: engine-bay for high-current and engine circuits, cabin box for interior electrics.
  2. Open the cover and read the legend on the lid (or in the handbook) to find the right fuse – assignments vary by trim and market.
  3. Switch off the ignition and the affected circuit.
  4. Pull the suspect fuse with the plastic puller in the box. A blown fuse has a broken metal strip.
  5. Fit a new fuse of the same amperage (same color) – never a higher rating or a metal bridge.
  6. If it blows again, there is a fault in that circuit – have it diagnosed.

Frequently asked questions

Where is the fuse chart? On the underside of the fuse-box lid and in the owner’s handbook – the only charts guaranteed to match your car.

Chasing a dashboard fault code instead? Look it up on autodtcs.com.
