These instructions apply to the Mercedes E-Class Mk5 (W213) 2016-2023.
For other models, please choose your vehicle here.
The Mercedes E-Class W213 stores new tire pressures from the on-board menu after you have set them correctly cold. The system then re-learns over the first few minutes of driving.
Reset it whenever you adjust the pressures or change a wheel or tire. Always set pressures cold, using the values on the placard inside the fuel filler flap.
How to reset the E-Class tire pressure warning
- Set all four tires to the correct cold pressures from the fuel-flap placard.
- Turn the ignition on.
- Open the SERVICE menu on the display and select Tire pressure.
- Choose Adopt current pressures as new guideline values; the display confirms Tire pressure monitoring restarted.
- Turn the ignition off, then drive for about five minutes so the new pressures are stored.
The W213 uses a direct system with a sensor in each wheel, so the readout is per-wheel once learned. The reset is the same whether you corrected a slightly low tire or fitted a new wheel.
Your recommended cold pressures are printed on the label inside the fuel filler flap, listed by tire size and load. Inflate to those figures before running the reset, not after.
Where is the tire pressure table on a Mercedes E-Class?
On the W213 it is on the inside of the fuel filler flap, not in the door jamb. It lists pressures by tire size and by partial or full load.
Why won’t my E-Class TPMS light go off?
If the warning stays on after a reset, one tire is still below spec or a sensor has failed. Re-check all four cold pressures, including the spare if fitted, then restart the system and drive a few minutes.
If a warning light stays on or a fault code appears afterwards, you can look the code up free on autodtcs.com.
