Reset the Tyre Pressure Monitor

Reviewed by the Service Reset editor · Updated September 2, 2026 · How we verify

These instructions apply to the Mercedes Sprinter Mk3 (W907/W910) 2018-Present.

The Sprinter’s tyre-pressure monitor reads each wheel’s pressure and temperature and warns you with a display message and the yellow tyre lamp. After you adjust the pressures or swap wheels, restart the system through the on-board computer so it learns the new reference values.

  1. Set every tyre to the correct cold pressure for the load, following the placard in the driver’s door aperture. Only reset once all four pressures are correct.
  2. Switch the van on.
  3. Open the on-board computer’s Service menu and select “Tyres” (Banden). The cluster shows the current per-wheel pressures, plus temperature on the colour display.
  4. Scroll down in the Tyres menu until the prompt “Adopt current tyre pressure as new reference value?” appears.
  5. Confirm the prompt. The cluster shows “Tyre-pressure monitor restarted”, any current warnings clear and the yellow tyre lamp goes out.
  6. Drive for a few minutes. The system checks the live pressures and adopts them as the new reference values.

Good to know

New sensors, such as those in a second set of winter wheels, are learned automatically the first time you drive on them, so no separate coding is needed.

The pressures shown in the cluster can differ from a handheld gauge because gauges read against sea-level pressure. At altitude a gauge reads higher than the true value, so always inflate down to the placard figure rather than the gauge reading.

On 3.0 t and 3.5 t vans, switching between 245/65 R17 XL tyres and the other approved sizes needs the monitor’s pressure range re-coded by a Mercedes workshop.

FAQ

How do I reset the Sprinter tyre pressure warning?

Open the on-board computer’s Service menu, select Tyres, scroll down to “Adopt current tyre pressure as new reference value?” and confirm it. The warning clears and the yellow lamp goes out.

Do I need a tool to reset it?

No. The reset is entirely in the cluster’s on-board computer menu, so no diagnostic tool or workshop visit is required for a standard reset.

Why is the tyre light still on after I inflated the tyres?

Inflating alone does not clear it. You must run the reset in the Tyres menu to adopt the new pressures as the reference, then drive for a few minutes so the system re-checks them.

Do new tyre sensors need coding?

No, new sensors are learned automatically on first use. The only exception is changing to or from 245/65 R17 tyres on 3.0 t / 3.5 t vans, which needs a workshop to re-code the pressure range.
