These instructions apply to the Honda Accord Mk8 (CU/CW) 2008-2015.

After the 12V battery has been disconnected (or a door or window regulator has been worked on), the Accord’s one-touch auto-up/auto-down window function stops working until the power-window control unit is re-taught. You can reset it yourself in a minute — no tool required.
The same procedure applies to the North American Accord (2008–2012) — see the US guide.
How to reset the power windows on a Honda Accord (2008–2015)
- Turn the ignition to ON (II).
- Using the window’s DOWN switch, lower the glass all the way.
- Open the driver’s door.
- Now do this sequence three times, keeping each move within 5 seconds of the last: turn the ignition OFF (0); press and hold the window DOWN switch; turn the ignition ON (II); release the switch.
- Check that auto-up no longer works. If it still does, start again from step 1.
- Lower the glass fully again with the DOWN switch.
- Pull UP and hold the switch until the window is fully closed, then keep holding for 1 more second.
- Test auto-up and auto-down — both should now work.
The 5-second timing between moves is the part people get wrong; if it does not take, repeat the whole procedure a little faster. On cars with a push-button start, use the OFF and ON ignition modes (no foot on the brake) in place of the key positions.
Each door is taught separately. The front passenger window must be reset from the passenger’s own switch, not the driver’s master switch.
Frequently asked questions
Why did my auto-up stop after a flat battery?
The window control unit loses its learned end-stops when power is cut. The glass still goes up and down while you hold the switch, but the one-touch auto function stays disabled until you re-initialize it.
Do I need a scan tool?
No. The switch procedure above re-teaches the control unit without any equipment. A dealer would do the same thing through the diagnostic system, but it is not necessary.
Auto-up still will not work — what now?
Repeat the procedure, paying close attention to the 5-second limit between each step. If it still fails after several tries, the window motor or its pulse sensor may be at fault rather than the initialization.
